Seun Anikulapo Kuti, the renowned Afrobeat musician, has been released from jail and has resumed his summer tour in Europe. The tour, which had been put on hold due to his trial, has now kicked off with his first concert in Zurich, Switzerland.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Seun Anikulapo Kuti announced his departure for Zurich, sharing a picture of himself aboard an airplane. He expressed his excitement as the Euro tour commences tonight.
Last month, the musician had initially shared the details of his Europe tour, scheduled to take place from May 20 to August 16, 2023, covering countries such as the UK, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia.
However, his tour was temporarily halted when he was arrested on May 15, 2023, after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge. Following his arrest, he spent six days in detention at the state criminal investigation Department (SCID).
After meeting his bail conditions, Seun Anikulapo Kuti was eventually released. His court case has been adjourned until July 3, 2023, allowing him some time to continue his ongoing tour.
