Nigerian musician Kelly Hansome was involved in a recent incident during the Imo State Forum meeting organized by the All Progressive Congress (APC), America chapter. In a viral video, he was seen being escorted out of the meeting by the police after expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation in their home state of Imo.
In the video, Kelly Hansome can be heard saying, “We are not going to vote for Hope Uzodinma,” referring to a political figure in the state. After the incident, the musician addressed the situation on his Instagram page, stating that certain politicians, including Senator Athan Achonuwere, attempted to suppress his freedom of speech.
Kelly Hansome explained that he was invited to join the Imo State forum organized by the APC to support the government’s policies, but he disagreed with their approach. He mentioned that the politicians should acknowledge the failures and address the insecurity issues in Imo State instead of trying to deceive the people.
He also criticized the government for not taking responsibility for the insecurity that has affected the lives of the people in the state, urging them to focus on finding solutions and making amends. Despite the altercation, he emphasized that his intention was not to disrespect anyone but to speak the truth and stand up for the people of Imo State.
