Talented singer Gbekile David Osemeke, widely known as Boy Spyce, has strongly criticized fellow artists who resort to paying social media influencers to hype their music.
In an online video, the Mavin artist was featured in an interview with Cool FM, where he expressed his strong disapproval of the practice. Boy Spyce conveyed his frustration with artists who go to great lengths to pay influencers to promote their music.
In his view, this approach portrays artists as inauthentic and undermines the genuineness that should be prioritized in the music industry. He emphasized that such tactics would not lead to long-term success, as the industry is vast and artists need to establish their credibility and validity in more genuine ways.
Boy Spyce went on to confidently assert that he wouldn’t engage in such practices himself. He believes in his own abilities and doesn’t feel the need to resort to paying for false promotion.
During the interview, Boy Spyce acknowledged that his opinion might ruffle some feathers, but he remains steadfast in his belief that artists should refrain from paying others to validate their talent. He stressed that it’s more important for artists to demonstrate their talent and authenticity to the world rather than relying on paid promotions.
