Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, recently expressed his sentiments about the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan. Despite City securing a 1-0 victory and claiming their first-ever Champions League trophy in Istanbul, Turkey, Burna Boy confessed that he didn’t want City to win due to his allegiance to their rival team, Manchester United.
In an interview with Paramount+ shortly after the game, Burna Boy, who made history as the first African artist to perform at the Champions League final, shared his thoughts. He stated, “Although I had sentimental reasons for not wanting City to win, it’s still an incredible experience. Performing at the UCL final is truly amazing.”
Burna Boy captivated fans with a medley performance of his popular songs, including ‘Last Last’ and ‘It’s Plenty,’ during the kickoff show powered by Pepsi.
