Innocent Idibia, widely known as Tuface or 2baba, a seasoned singer, bared his emotions regarding the impact of online trolling and criticism on social media platforms.
During a conversation with Adesope on the Afrobeats Podcast, the artist delved into the distressing behavior exhibited by trolls in online spaces.
Tuface likened hurtful comments directed at him and his family to the distressing effects of terrorism on innocent people, emphasizing the emotional toll it takes:
“The barrage of insults and criticisms can be painful. I’ve encountered numerous people who say negative things about me. People have trolled me relentlessly on social media, and it does hurt. Sometimes, individuals on social media simply spew hurtful words. It’s akin to terrorists causing harm to innocent individuals.”
The father of seven children underscored that despite the incessant criticism he receives, not a single one of these critics has ever stepped forward to contribute to his children’s educational expenses.
In his own words:
“And it’s perplexing that despite their apparent concern for my family, none of these critics have come forward to assist in paying for my children’s schooling. Not a single person. Many individuals engage in discussions about children, fatherhood, motherhood, and the entire family sphere. However, these discussions often remain at the level of public opinion. Yet, it goes much deeper than that. There isn’t a person who possesses an exact blueprint for navigating these matters.”
