Biography
Eric Marlon Bishop, professionally known as Jamie Foxx (born December 13, 1967), is a producer, actor, musician, radio host, comedian, and multidimensional performer. He participated in a number of extracurricular activities. In addition to his academic excellence, he excelled in sports such as basketball and football.
As a teenager, he also performed in a band and was often commended for his ability to make his peers laugh. He began his career as a stand-up comedian before transitioning to acting. Due to his athletic experience, he was cast in the film “Any Given Sunday” as a football player.
His acting career reached its zenith with his performance in the biopic “Ray,” for which he won an “Academy Award” and a “BAFTA Award.” He is an accomplished actor and Grammy-winning musician.
Two of the five albums released by Jamie Foxx have been declared platinum. This excellent performer has also been involved in a number of issues as a result of his run-ins with the law and disrespectful remarks about other artists.
Childhood and education
Jamie Foxx was born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas, to Louise Annette Talley and Darrell Bishop.
His parents split when he was young, and he was reared in a racially segregated neighborhood by his maternal grandparents.
He was musically interested from childhood and began playing the piano at age five. He was very skilled at making people laugh with his jokes. The names of his two sisters are Deidra Dixon and Deondra Dixon.

He began performing stand-up comedy in 1989. During this time, he performed under the stage name Jamie Foxx.
In 1991, he joined the cast of the sketch comedy series “In Living Color,” appearing in 95 episodes as a recurring character.
In the 1992 fantasy comedy picture “Toys,” he made his film debut as “Baker.” The picture was a box office failure and did not help establish his career in Hollywood.
Jamie Foxx released his debut album, “Peep This,” in 1994. The album peaked at number 78 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Eleven years would pass before he released another album.
He co-created and starred in the WB Network sitcom “The Jamie Foxx Show” from 1996 to 2001. Also starring were Garcelle Beauvais, Christopher Duncan, and Garrett Morris. It was a tremendous success.
