Maryam received her early education and spent much of her childhood in her hometown of Kano. No mention is made of her family’s whereabouts or profession.
Even though she entered the film industry at an early age, Buzz Nigeria was able to confirm that she was given extensive attention and support from her family in her acting profession. She went to elementary school in Yelwa and high school in Bokab Barracks, where she got her Senior School Certificate. Since she was a little girl, she always knew that she wanted to be an actress.
Maryam yahaya Career
Maryam Yahaya was inspired to become an actress after seeing a number of Hausa films when she was a child. She went on to say that she was greatly influenced by Adam Zango, Nuhu Abdullahi, Ali Nuhu, Rahama Sadau, Jamila Nagudu, and other well-known Kannywood performers and actresses. She finished high school in 2015 with a burning desire to pursue a career in acting, and she did just that. Her rise to fame began after the release of the film Mansoor.
In 2016, Maryam had her start in Kannywood with the film Gidan Abinci. Her Oscar-worthy turn in the film opened doors for her to get bigger parts in other movies. Mansoor, released in 2017, marked her debut in the Kannywood film industry. Maryam was cast in the film to fill the role originally intended for the late Bilkisu Shema, but she did an excellent job. Starring in the same film as Ali Nuhu, Umar M. Sharif, Sadiq Ahmad, Abba El-Mustapha, etc. at the tender age of 19 must have been a huge boost to her acting career.
Mariya, a film she starred in last year, brought her even more attention and recognition. She plays the principal role, a teenage girl who is married off to a man who seems like he could be her father, in a suspenseful film. It shows how it is common in Hausa culture to get girls married as young as 13 instead of sending them to school.
Maryam had outstanding performances in her varied roles, and the movie succeeds on both the entertainment and educational fronts. The young actress’s impressive performance has drawn widespread praise her way.
