Early Life And Education
Nkechi Blessing Sunday was raised in the United States. In 2015, she made her directorial debut with the film Omoge Lekki, in which she also starred opposite Yinka Quadri.
In 2016, Omoge Lekki won several awards, including the MAYA Award and a nomination at the Best of Nollywood Awards for Revelation of the Year.
Nkechi Blessing Sunday hails from a community that is located in one of the 17 local government areas that make up the state of Abia, which is located in the south-eastern part of Nigeria.
She attended Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary School in Lagos for her primary education and Barachel Model College in Lagos for her secondary education.
Both schools are located in Lagos. She received a certificate in theater arts from Lagos State University after completing a six-month program there, and she earned a degree in international relations from Houdegbe North American University.
Career
Her friend “Kemi Korede” found Nkechi Blessing enthusiasm for acting in 2008, after she had graduated from Lagos State University, and featured her in her film “Omo Bewaji.”
Omo Bewaji became a minor break for her career and led to her meeting with Emeka Duru, who offered her a supporting role in Emem Isong’s movie Through The Fire & Entanglement in 2009. Omo Bewaji also led to her meeting with Emeka Duru.
After meeting with the producer Temitope Bali in South Africa, who offered her the role in Kafila Omo Ibadan, she rose to prominence in 2012 with a lead role in Kafila Omo Ibadan. This led to her rise in popularity.
The Nigeria Carnival USA revealed her as one of its ambassadors on February 1, 2017, at the second edition of the annual music, cultural, and comedic event that takes place in the United States of America to celebrate Nigeria.
She was recognized as the Most Promising Actress of the Year at the 2018 City People Movie Award for her performance as “Dora” in the movie The Ghost and the Tout, which she appeared in, earning her the award.
Nkechi Blessing and Seun Sean Jimoh co-hosted the 2020 edition of the African Entertainment Awards USA with one another in the year 2020. In the same year, she participated in the production of Fate of Alakada, playing the role of Bisi.
She played leading roles in the television shows Tanwa Savage, The Cleanser, Omo Emi, and Ise Ori, while she appeared in supporting roles in the television shows Breaded Life and Olori Amolegbe.
