The sensational Afrobeats singer, Tems, has opened up about the challenges she faced when false rumors circulated, suggesting that she was pregnant for American rapper Future, leading to death threats.
Social media buzzed with speculations after a video surfaced, seemingly showing Tems with a baby bump. Dismissing the rumors, she clarified that she was not expecting a child.
In a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, the Oscar-nominated artist revealed that she received direct messages on social media, criticizing her alleged connection with American rapper Future, who was wrongly believed to be the cause of her reported pregnancy.
Despite collaborating with Future and Drake on the Grammy-winning song “Wait For U,” Tems emphasized that she had never met Future in person.
Reflecting on the ordeal, she shared, “When I heard the rumors that I was pregnant, I didn’t actually think anybody believed it. I didn’t know it was serious until I started getting messages like death threats, like, ‘How dare you? Of all the people in the world, Future, really?’ And I’ve never met him in my life. So it’s crazy”
