The panel constituted by the Anambra State Government to investigate the controversy surrounding Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s JAMB result has released its findings.
According to the report, the panel determined that Mmesoma forged her own result without any external assistance. Comprising professors and ICT experts, the panel made several recommendations. One recommendation is that Mmesoma should issue an unreserved written apology to JAMB, Anglican Girls’ Secondary School (her school), and the Anambra State Government.
The report also suggests that Mmesoma undergo psychological counseling and therapy. Furthermore, the panel emphasized the importance of prospective JAMB candidates strictly adhering to the guidelines and procedures provided by the examination body. The report presented detailed evidence, including specific dates, times, and communication exchanges between Mmesoma and JAMB, revealing how she checked her result, manipulated it, and subsequently printed the forged version.
The report highlighted various discrepancies in Mmesoma’s submission, such as the use of different registration numbers and outdated result templates. Mmesoma admitted to the manipulation in the presence of her principal and the Education Secretary, without providing a clear motive for her actions. The principal and Education Secretary expressed astonishment at the incident, as Mmesoma had deceived not only the school but also her immediate family and the state government.
