Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has achieved a significant milestone with his hit song ‘Calm Down,’ as it becomes the most streamed African song in the history of the United States. The song has surpassed CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to claim the top spot.
According to the American music data compilation website, Chart Data, ‘Calm Down’ has now become the number one most-streamed Afrobeats song in the US, with both versions of the song accumulating over half a billion streams on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. Additionally, the song’s remix with American superstar Selena Gomez reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest-peaking Nigerian song on the chart and the first African song to top the American radio chart.
