Wizkid and Tems, acclaimed Nigerian singers and Grammy award winners, have been recognized as the first African recipients of the prestigious iHeartRadio Titanium Award.
The iHeartRadio Titanium Award is bestowed upon artists whose songs have amassed an impressive 1 billion spins across iHeartRadio stations in the United States.
Wizkid and Tems were honored with this accolade for their chart-topping track, ‘Essence,’ which achieved the remarkable milestone of 1 billion spins across iHeartRadio stations.
Tems‘ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, recently shared a video clip of the award on his Instagram story, celebrating the achievement.
It is worth noting that ‘Essence,’ initially featured on Wizkid’s highly acclaimed fourth studio album, ‘Made In Lagos,’ gained significant popularity on American mainstream radio following the release of a remix version featuring Canadian singer Justin Bieber in 2021.
