Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made a significant philanthropic gesture by disbursing N237 million to 424 orphanages across Nigeria through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF). The donation was made possible through contributions from individuals and corporations in various sectors and regions.
In a tweet on Thursday, Davido expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to the noble cause. According to the attached press statement, a total of 13,818 children benefited from the generous donation.
This act of philanthropy is not the first of its kind by the artist. Davido has a tradition of giving back to society, as he donated N250 million to 292 orphanages in Nigeria last year, fulfilling a promise he made on his birthday in 2021. Through his charitable efforts, Davido is making a positive impact on the lives of many underprivileged children in Nigeria, demonstrating the importance of using one’s platform for the betterment of others.
