Temmie Ovwasa, a Nigerian singer formerly known as YBNL Princess, has opened up about her experiences seeking deliverance from lesbianism in various churches.
In the latest episode of the Doyin’s Corner audiovisual podcast hosted by former Big Brother Naija reality star Doyinsola David, the 26-year-old artist shared that despite being raised by a pastor and undergoing multiple deliverance sessions, she was unable to rid herself of her same-sex attraction.
Temmie revealed that she had gone to different churches and even resorted to bathing in a river in an attempt to be delivered from lesbianism. However, these efforts did not succeed, and she found herself still practicing homosexuality.
Having grown up within a religious environment, with her father being a pastor, Temmie acknowledged the periods in her life where she tried to suppress her true identity. She mentioned that some individuals have the ability to suppress their same-sex attraction and choose to ignore it, but for her, suppressing her true nature was not possible. She emphasized that she couldn’t fathom engaging in a heterosexual relationship as it goes against her genuine feelings and identity.
It’s important to recognize that Temmie Ovwasa is sharing her personal experiences and struggles, and her remarks shed light on the challenges faced by individuals dealing with conflicting sexual orientation and societal expectations within a religious context.
