As the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari comes to an end on May 29, 2023, Nollywood actor Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon, expresses his hope that the incoming administration will govern the country responsibly and avoid mismanagement that would make citizens long for the previous government.
According to Okon, Nigerians often find themselves missing their former leaders due to the worsening state of the economy with each successive government.
The comedic actor alleges that the outgoing president’s motivation for seeking office was solely driven by his selfish desire to rule Nigeria once again, rather than a genuine commitment to serving the nation.
He earnestly hopes that Nigerians will not have a reason to miss the departing president.
Taking to his Instastory, Okon writes, “It was never about us. It was solely about his lifelong ambition to lead Nigeria at the highest level, whether through military or civilian rule. Like someone driven by lust, he has fulfilled his desires, satisfied his cravings, and now it’s all over. Nigerians often yearn for their past leaders because things continually deteriorate. My prayer is that we will not have a Nigeria where we sincerely miss Buhari. Dear God, please hear our plea!”
