Lotanna Ojukwu, the younger brother of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, former Biafra Head of State, has expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu differs from former President Muhammadu Buhari in his stance towards the Igbo people.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Friday, Lotanna Ojukwu addressed questions about the security challenges facing the Southeast region of Nigeria.
He stated that if the governors of the Southeast region are sincere in their efforts, they have the ability to engage in meaningful discussions with the President and achieve the desired outcome, which is the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Lotanna Ojukwu further explained, “It is important to note that the court has ordered the release of Nnamdi Kanu. However, I never believed that Buhari, who has shown little favor towards the Igbo people, would release him. I have always voiced my skepticism whenever asked for my opinion.”
He expressed a different outlook on Bola Tinubu, stating that Tinubu does not carry the same negative perceptions towards the Igbo people as Buhari appeared to hold. Lotanna Ojukwu expressed his desire to see a stronger bond of unity and love between the Yoruba and Igbo ethnic groups.
