Charly Boy, the maverick singer, has responded to the controversy surrounding UTME candidate Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who admitted to using her phone to inflate her score to 362.
Following the release of JAMB scores and the announcement of Nkechiyere Umeh as the candidate with the highest score, Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, protested that she had actually scored 362. However, an Anambra state government committee investigating the matter reported that Mmesoma had confessed to manipulating her results.
Charly Boy took to Twitter to express his reaction, stating that Mmesoma had managed to deceive many people, including himself. He acknowledged her fluency and apparent innocence in defending herself. While acknowledging her intelligence, he urged caution in not rushing to destroy her, emphasizing that her parents needed to provide guidance and counseling.
Additionally, he pointed out that everyone makes mistakes, including political leaders who engage in forgery and those who have not yet located their WAEC results. Charly Boy further suggested that Mmesoma might have been influenced by the manipulation of Nigeria’s electoral process by INEC.
