Former lawmaker Shehu Sani has called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize transparency over party loyalty and reveal the truth about the state of affairs inherited from the previous administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sani argued that it is unjust to demand sacrifices from the impoverished Nigerian masses without providing them with details about what transpired under the previous government. He expressed his views in a Twitter post on Saturday. Sani’s remarks come in the wake of the removal of fuel subsidies by the Tinubu administration, resulting in an increase in petroleum product prices across the country. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened to initiate a nationwide strike next Wednesday if the government fails to reverse the decision.
