Indian chef Lata Tondon has responded following the news that Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, known as Hilda Baci, surpassed her as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
According to a report Today, Guinness World Records certified Hilda as the new record holder, acknowledging her achievement of cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes. This was slightly lower than the initially recorded 100 hours, as Hilda had mistakenly included extra minutes for one of her breaks early in the attempt.
In her Instastory on Thursday, Tondon, the previous record holder, expressed her happiness for Hilda Baci and extended her best wishes to her and the people of Nigeria. She wrote, “Namaste Nigeria. I’m very happy for you all, and my best wishes to Hilda!”
Tondon had set her record in 2019 by cooking nonstop for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
